Thursday – No Devolucion (REVIEW)

Thursday have been rocking crowds for nearly 15 years. In that time they’ve provided us with some of the most memorable albums including my favorite Full Collapse. When the label sent me their latest album, No Devolucion I was really excited. My excitement was rewarded when I hit play on the first track. My first reaction, “Fuck yeah!” That clearly was the right reaction because things just got better from there. Geoff Rickly provides the lead vocals to what would be one of the best albums of 2011. I truely cannot under emphisize how good this latest effort is. With 12 tracks to keep you busy it’s Thursday’s best album since their 2001 Full Collapse in my opinion.

I loved that they brought some great rock tracks mixed with some more laid back tracks that still maintain that simplistic bite that Thursday is best known for. I can’t wait to see some of these tracks performed live. Some of my favorite tracks include “Fast to the End”, “Past and Future Ruins”, “Sparks Against the Sun”, and “A Gun in the First Act.”

Fans of Thursday will be left wanting more as “Stay True” caps off this journey like an open ended movie. We can’t wait to listen to the sequel. -JC
