Canada’s own Metric hit the road for their Doomscroller Tour and made a stop in Portland. The foursome brought their synth-rock hits along with new stuff to a packed crowd at the Crystal Ballroom on a chilly fall night. Opening the set with the track that bares the tour’s name, “Doomscroller” Emily Haines and company mixed the set with some new music from their new album Formentera all the way back to their 2005 album, Live It Out closing out with “Monster Hospital” as part of their encore.

On the road for the first time since 2019 in support of Art of Doubt, Metric seemed very comfortable being back on the stage after a long pause during the pandemic. Joules Scott-Key was flawless on drums with James Shaw and Joshua Winstead backing up Emily at the front of the stage and connecting with the sell-out crowd.
