Jack Black performs with Tenacious D at the Fox Theater in Oakland

In support of their fourth album Post-Apocalypto, Tenacious D (actors/musicians Jack Black and Kyle Gass) performed a two-night sold-out stint at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA.

The D took the stage at 9pm, behind a screen curtain that began to display the introduction of their new YouTube web series. Each animation would play in the same order that they were aired, with the band performing the accompanying songs in between segments.

From front to back, Post-Apocalypto made up the first act of the night. Once Tenacious D saved the world and went into the reprise, the curtain lifted and the second half of the night was filled with older classic D tunes. A full band rendition of Saxaboom was a welcome highlight.
