Few can emerge from a legendary band like Oasis and survive. Noel Gallagher seems to have no problem with it.
Two records in as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, the older brother of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has proven that songwriting is his forte, and no one can touch that. Tonight (May 18, 2015) in San Francisco was no exception.
When most people clammer for covers of said artist’s former glory, I’d have to say Noel is IN his glory at the moment. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds played a few Oasis tunes, sprinkled in with his more modern compositions. That was totally fine by us, as the Oasis tunes (although perfectly executed) were a minor excitement in comparison to his new work. We can’t say that of hardly any artists (save Peter Gabriel, and… well that’s kinda it).
If you have the chance to check out Gallagher’s current tour, please do. It’s worth every penny.
