Ringo Starr brought his All Starr Band back through the San Francisco Bay Area again for 2024, this time to Saratoga’s Mountain Winery. The show was his second outing of the year, following the debut of his Las Vegas residency at The Venetian.

The warm weather took a break, and the coastal fog rolled in before Starr took the stage with veteran players Steve Lukather, Edgar Winter, Colin Hay, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette. The setlist was familiar, but nevertheless a load of fun.

After warming up the (literally) chilly audience with “Matchbox” and “It Don’t Come Easy”, Ringo jumped behind the drum kit for Toto’s “Rosanna”. Despite the delayed start time (due to travel issues, or so Ringo joked), both the band and the crowd were in excellent spirits as the echos of classic rock tunes filled the misty hills around the picturesque Mountain Winery bowl venue.

19 songs in all, Ringo and his All Starr Band stuck to tradition and jammed through a medley of well known tracks from the band members’ respective groups (Toto, Average White Band, Men at Work, and of course The Beatles).
