After a two-year delay due to COVID-19, the “Stadium Tour” brought 80’s icons Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts to San Francisco on Wednesday. It was a warm day on the Bay at Oracle Park, surrounded by band T shirts, leather pants, and curly wigs.

After a short set by openers Classless Act, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts took the stage to a sun-baked audience. Jett sounded strong as ever, bringing a solid setlist of her own tunes as well as a few from The Runaways.

Next Up: Poison brought a high energy rock and roll set. Bret Michael and C.C. DeVille seemed the most excited to be on stage, as Michaels expressed his enthusiasm a number of times to the audience. Restauranteur Guy Fieri was on site, coming out on stage with a cigar to introduce the band.

Motley Crue took the next slot, with an over-the-top intro involving a fake newscast and red smoke. The loudest band of the whole night, Motley Crue brought good energy… despite singer Vince Neil’s vocal struggles. Drummer Tommy Lee managed to coerce nudity from some audience members. So, in other words, it was Crue show.

The evening’s headliner, Def Leppard, executed perhaps the most flawless set of the whole event. The mix and vocal harmonies were almost too good, leaving a bit of speculation as to how much was live and how much was backing tracked. Despite the observation, Def Leppard were certainly worthy of closing the show.
