Lost Depeche Mode Recordings Found in Attic

wrobin2-1200x675Hairdresser Robin Neale cleaned out his attic to find 30-year-old reel to reel tapes containing rare early recordings of Depeche Mode in one of their first concerts. Neale used to style the band’s hair as an apprentice, according to Electronic Beats:

“in 1980 we were apprentice hairdressers and used to do the band’s hair in the toilets of Crocs. One evening during the band’s performance the DJ at Crocs recorded the band’s performance through a mixing desk and gave the reels to me.”

Reportedly, the tapes have indeed been digitized and include live versions of “Just Can’t Get Enough”, “Addiction”,”Television Set” , “Tomorrow’s Dance”, “Reason Man” and a demo containing “Ice Machine”, “Radio News” and “Photographic”.
