Weezer Announce Self-Titled (White) Album on 4/1

weezerHaving just released their 9th studio album Everything Will be Alright in the End just a little over a year ago, Weezer have announced that their 10th album will be available on April 1st.

The new offering is self-titled (unofficially referred to as the White Album) and has already spawned three new singles: the radio hit “Thank God for Girls” and newcomers “King of the World” and “Do Wanna Get High?“… the latter of which sounds remarkably like it was intended for 1996’s Pinkerton.

In the band’s own words:

Our new self titled album will be out on April 1st (this is not a joke), and we’re going on tour this summer (this is also not a joke).

This album was inspired by my experiences hanging around the Westside of Los Angeles, which has been our home since Weezer began. Hanging out with people in Venice and Santa Monica, the beach, the Hare Krishnas, the Sikh on roller blades with the guitar, girls on Tinder within a 4 mile radius, seeing other bands, etc. I would just tweet out “does anybody wanna hang?” and then I’d get together with people who responded and talk about life. I love California. I wanted the album to have a Beach Boys sort of vibe to make you feel like you were there with us SoCal weirdos even if you’re in Milwaukee in December.

North America, get the brand new song “King of the World” instantly along with “Thank God For Girls” and “Do You Wanna Get High?” when you pre-order the white album on Apple Music. The song will be available internationally starting at midnight local time. The international digital pre-order is coming soon.
