In an interview with iHeartRadio, Muse singer Matt Bellamy claims that their upcoming album Drones is their best allbum to date, even encouraging new Muse listeners to start with this new record and ignore their past work:
“On the last album, we experimented a lot and did a lot that was outside of our genre. We got into electronic music. Now on the album we thought it would be good to go back to a more ‘rock’ sound,” he says.
“I can say this — this album is our best album… I haven’t been able to say that for a while, but this album is our best album. So feel free to start on this one, just don’t worry about the others.”
He also adds:
“Our intention was to go back to how we made music in the early stages of our career, when we were more like a standard three-piece rock band with guitar, bass and drums… As I look back at the last three albums, each one had progressively less and less songs that we could play live.”
What do you think? Are you excited for Drones on June 8th?
