Faith No More to Release First New Album In 18 Years

California’s Bay Area rock/metal outfit Faith No More has announced that will be releasing a new album in April 2015. It will be their first album in 18 years (the last being Album of the Year in 1997).

The as-yet-untitled new release will be a completely independent effort. The band will record the album in their Oakland, CA rehearsal space, with Bassist Bill Gould producing and it will be released via their own Reclamation Records label (distributed by Mike Patton’s Ipecac Recordings). Faith No More had reunited in 2009 for a steady handful of show dates, debuting a new song in London earlier this year.

Although the new record is a ways off in the distance, fans can look forward to a special 7″ vinyl release of a new single titled “Motherfucker”, which will be a limited edition run of 5,000 copies on Record Store Day’s Black Friday… this coming November 28th.
