The Used announce spring tour

Reprise Records artists The Used have announced a spring US headlining tour in support of their new album Artwork.  The nationwide string of dates kick off with headlining slots at Extreme Thing in Las Vegas on March 27th and the MusInk festival in Dallas on April 11th and run through May 2nd in Portland, OR.  Supporting on this tour will be Chiodos and Minneapolis-based New Medicine, who will release their debut album this summer through Photo Finish Records, with Jaguar Love replacing Chiodos for the final few dates.

Critical acclaim for the Matt Squire-produced Artwork has been effusive.  Outburn (which the band recently graced the cover of) praises its “humbling ability to sound scrappy and raw while being perfectly polished and huge,” while Alternative Press states “The Used have delivered not only the definitive album of their career but arguably one of the best records you’ll hear in 2009. 4 ½ stars.”

The band’s legions of fans are responding as well.  The Used performed to a sold-out crowd on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and the first single, “Blood On My Hands” premiered on iTunes with over 5k downloads in the first day, the highest digital debut in the band’s history.  The video for the song debuted on MySpace and shot directly to the #1 spot, with 200,000 views in the first 24 hours.  The Used recently released the music video for their international single “Empty With You,” directed by Nate Weaver. “Empty With You” can be seen on www.TheUsed.net

The Used just released two iTunes-exclusive EP’s that are available now for $1.99 each.  The first is The Bird and the Worm EP, featuring an instrumental version of the song that is also featured in the trailer for the new Warner Bros. Pictures film Clash of the Titans.  The second is the B-Side Untitled EP, featuring two B-sides from Artwork.
