Motion City Soundtrack – My Dinosaur Life (REVIEW)

My Dinosaur Life is the fourth studio album for this Minnesota pop-rock band. Right away you’re treated to an earful of poppy goodness and for the most part it doesn’t let up. Tracks like “A Lifeless Ordinary” and “Stand Too Close” are solid tracks that get your toe tapping early.

For the most part this is a safe album for Motion City Soundtrack. It appeals to its core audience and longtime fans of the band are not going to be disappointed with this album. If you’re a young person full of angst and have a heart that needs some tugging at, then My Dinosaur Life will serve as the backdrop to those feelings. One of my favorite tracks off the album is “Pulp Fiction.” It’s a much faster paced song that showcases Motion City Soundtracks rock appeal. It’s the best track on the album in my opinion.

Overall I give My Dinosaur Life 3 1/2 out of 5. Solid tracks, very radio friendly, and pretty poppy. Good stuff. Not amazing, but good. Go check it out either way.
