Today thet Grammy Nomiations were announced and there were very few surprises. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Kings Of Leon, The Black Eyed Peas, and Beyonce all got the nomination for Record of the Year and most of the same folks got the nod for Song of the Year. Best New Artist included Zac Brown Band, Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups, and The Ting Tings. Green Day’s “21 Guns” got the nomination for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or a Group as well as Best Rock Song.

One of our favorite albums of the year grabbed a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. That was acollaboration between Talking Heads Lead Singer David Byrne and soloist/composer Brian Eno.

All-in-all this year’s Grammy nominations provided very little surprise which means we should see the continual slide of ratings for the actual awards show.
