A Great Big Pile of Leaves To Release Two EP’s November 1st LIVE FROM THE LIVING ROOM- VOLUME ONE and BOOM
Brooklyn indie rock trio A Great Big Pile of Leaves will release two new EP’s on November 1st. Both EP’s consist of new and re-recorded songs and will be available digitally and on vinyl only.
The first, Live from the Living Room- Volume One, a joint release from Boston, MA’s Topshelf Records and Brookyn, NY indie, Pressing Matters, run by Motion City Soundtrack keyboardist Jesse Johnson, was recorded in Johnson’s living room. The second, a studio effort titled Boom, will be released by Topshelf Records.

It’s not easy to hit a target when you aren’t sure what exactly your quarry looks—or sounds—like. Don’t misunderstand: Liam Finn knew what he and co-producer Burke Reid wanted to accomplish with FOMO, the follow-up to the New Zealand dynamo’s 2008 breakout I’ll Be Lightning. But they also recognised that capturing that je ne nais sais quoi that makes or breaks one-of-a-kind songs wouldn’t be a cakewalk.
Mike Patton to release soundtrack for The Solitude of Prime Number on 11/1/11
Mike Patton, moved by the Paolo Giordano novel The Solitude of Prime Numbers and having contributed music to the movie of the same name, has created a 16-track release that boasts some of the most contemplative and stirring music of his multi-faceted career with Patton describing the release as a personal “sonic departure.” The album, titled Music From The Film and Inspired By the Book The Solitude of Prime Numbers (La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi), has been set for a 11-1-11 release via Ipecac Recordings.
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS ANNOUNCE 12-CITY U.S. FALL TOUR
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS–singer/guitarist BILLY CORGAN, guitarist JEFF SCHROEDER, drummer MIKE BYRNE and bassist NICOLE FIORENTINO–will return to the road this fall for an intimate 12-city U.S. tour that will serve as a warm-up to a big year of touring for the band in 2012. The fall trek launches in Los Angeles on October 5 at the Wiltern Theatre and wraps in Philadelphia on October 22 at the Tower Theatre.
