Queens of the Stone Age brought their The End Is Nero Tour to San Francisco, landing at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium this week. Fronted by Josh Homme, the band blazed through 17 tracks (one cut, due to venue curfew) with seemingly renewed energy. It was QOTSA’s first tour in 5 years.
The sold out Bill Graham crowd was clearly ready, chanting and screaming before the lights went out and the band hit the stage, opening the evening with “Regular John”, set to focused beams of light all over the stage.

Long time guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen seemed to especially enjoy the outing, but it was certainly fun to watch the whole group in full force – with drummer extraordinaire Jon Theodore (formerly of The Mars Volta) and bassist Michael Shuman bringing a thunderous rhythm section.
Queens of the Stone Age was certainly missed, and it seems like they missed all of us as well.
