Greta Van Fleet’s Starcatcher World Tour landed in Portland, Oregon this past Saturday evening with a stunning musical performance that was equally worth catching for the visual aspects: an impressive stage arrangement with two elevated walkways surrounding the general admission pit, glamorous wardrobes for everyone (including much of the crowd), and lots of literal fire.

The anticipation for the evening built as the crew readied everything behind a curtain that prevented the crowd from even getting a small peek at the stage setup, but once the curtain dropped, the band came out to thunderous applause and launched right into their latest single, The Falling Sky.  Singer Josh Kiszka seemed to naturally command the crowd’s attention as he moved back and forth across the stage multiple times, seemingly soaking in the moment and the fans. Things quickly heated up thanks to some impressive pyrotechnics that were perfectly in sync with the rhythm section comprised of drummer Danny Wagner and the younger Kiszka brother, Sam, on bass while the band ripped through The Indigo Streak

In fact, the first few songs all featured extended jams, with Lover, Leaver (Taker, Believer) notably including a tremendous guitar solo from Josh’s twin brother, the extremely talented Jake Kiszka. A series of acoustic performances broke up the middle of the set before the band closed out with The Archer before returning for an encore of Light My Love and—very appropriately—Farewell for Now.
