Following just two years after the critically acclaimed album Chasing Yesterday, the former Oasis songwriter is gearing up to release his third solo effort in November. Gallagher recently dropped the information on Russell Brand’s radio show in April, updating his previous statement in late 2016 that he was expected to wrap production and all supporting media by the time of his June 2017 Glastonbury performance.

Not much is known about the upcoming release, except that there will be a track called “Instrumental Number Three”, and (according to a recent interview with NME):

“I am doing something different this time, to amuse myself – I am writing in the studio for the first time. As a rule I’ve not allowed myself to go in with any completed songs, so I am writing in there, it’s happening all around me during the day.”

“Usually I’ll go in, play a song, record an acoustic version of it and then I’ll think of something and we’ll head toward it. Everything we do is a forward motion toward that point. When you’re writing in the studio you don’t know where you’re going, so the flavour of it all can constantly shift. It’s a bit chaotic but the end results are great so far.”

Rumored reports indicate that Gem Archer, Noel’s former Oasis bandmate, has joined the High Flying Birds after the demise of the Liam Gallagher-fronted project Beady Eye. This is not confirmed, but would be the pair’s first time working together since 2009 if true.
